For Immediate Release:
Virginia, MN… The Miners Event & Convention Center (MECC) is advancing toward completion, with interior walls going up this past month. “The MECC is no longer a concept, but a reality for the City of Virginia, thanks to the hardworking city officials and the entire community for the support and funding to make this happen,” shared Brian Silber, City of Virginia Parks and Recreation Director. “As we start to finalize the interior, we decided there was no better way to represent and honor the community that made this project possible than asking our talented community members to submit their fine art for potential display at the MECC.”
The Fill Our Frames campaign runs now through July 16th. “We invite all artists and photographers to participate. Our Design team is looking for all different mediums of art to be considered for display in the Event Center portion of the facility,” explained Silber.
Submitted work should adhere to the following guidelines: Art and photo submissions must include nature, landscapes, or architecture with a focus on the Iron Range – with consideration of what makes the Iron Range area unique and special.
